Yes, America Has Talent!
Have you been watching the show “America’s Got Talent”? Not since the days of Ed Sullivan has such an array of talent been part of one TV show, and the result is very entertaining.
During the auditions we were treated to everything from Yodeling by young Taylor Ware and hip-hop-meets-tap-dance by “All That” to an amazing couple that in the blink of an eye changed clothing. In between that great talent there was a 60-year-old male stripper, there was “the laughing Yogi”, who didn’t have good Karma with the judges, a man who launched a bowling ball with steak knives in the holes (blade out mind you) from his foot to the crook of his neck while he had a scorpion in his pants and a variety of folks who took to the stage and tried to sing and not get buzzed off the stage by Pier, Brandy or David.
Of course, much like American Idol there is one judge who is “Simon” (he is after all the co-producer of the show. In this case that would be Pier. He really demands a high standard of the talent. Most of the time during the audition phase he would hit his buzzer seconds into the performance. Brandy and David, would of course be more gracious. Except for a few who didn't warrent a full performance, such as the woman who was doing a 1 person show about birds, or the "Shadow Dancers."
Some the performers that appeared the first week of the semi-final have been amazing. It would be interesting to learn even a bit of how Kevin Johnson does the Godzilla bit. All that, well, they were, well. Hmm, what else but All That.
But in the end, the judges returned a verdict that put The Millers in position to advance. The Millers are a blues act and, yes, they are brothers. (Would that make them the Blue Brothers? Hmm, maybe not.)
Tomorrow night they announce who those who called into phone numbers to vote put into the next level of the competition.
Regardless of how they finish in the show, look for future stardom from Taylor Ware, Alexis Jordan, Kevin Johnson, Corina Brouder, Shawn Ryan, Vladik, Hoopalicious or All That.
Perhaps you’ll hear something from one of the singers at one of our performances in the future. We’ll all have to wait to see what will come.
